Edry current control
About the main provisions
The advantages of this method are as follows:
- there is no physical contact with the product;
- no contact medium, such as water, is required;
- high performance.
The objectives of the study are as follows:
- identification of inhomogeneities in the product, which may adversely affect its fitness for purpose;
- measurement of the thickness of coatings or layers;
- measurement of other geometric characteristics;
- measurement of metallurgical or mechanical properties of the product;
- measurement of conductivity and/or permeability of the product;
- sorting products by any of the above properties.
Examples of controlled items are conductive materials such as:
- pipes, profiles, beams or bars;
- parts in the automotive and engineering industries;
- forged or cast products;
- multilayer components in aircraft construction.
Examples of using this method are as follows:
- flow control in the rolling mill, painting or exhaust line;
- checking the pipelines of heat exchangers during their operation;
- checking the properties of mass-produced goods and semi-finished products;
- checking aircraft during maintenance;
- checking the surfaces of cylindrical holes formed in products.
