Edry current control

About the main provisions

The advantages of this method are as follows:

  • there is no physical contact with the product;
  • no contact medium, such as water, is required;
  • high performance.

The objectives of the study are as follows:

  • identification of inhomogeneities in the product, which may adversely affect its fitness for purpose;
  • measurement of the thickness of coatings or layers;
  • measurement of other geometric characteristics;
  • measurement of metallurgical or mechanical properties of the product;
  • measurement of conductivity and/or permeability of the product;
  • sorting products by any of the above properties.

Examples of controlled items are conductive materials such as:

  • pipes, profiles, beams or bars;
  • parts in the automotive and engineering industries;
  • forged or cast products;
  • multilayer components in aircraft construction.

Examples of using this method are as follows:

  • flow control in the rolling mill, painting or exhaust line;
  • checking the pipelines of heat exchangers during their operation;
  • checking the properties of mass-produced goods and semi-finished products;
  • checking aircraft during maintenance;
  • checking the surfaces of cylindrical holes formed in products.
