Vacuum method control
Vacuum testing (also known as bubble vacuum testing) is commonly referred to as a leak testing method.
A foaming solution is applied to the surface of the object, after which a chamber is installed on top, creating a vacuum. Where there are leaks, bubbles begin to form, visible through the transparent top of the chamber. It is important to install the camera so that the previous inspected area of welded joints or base metal is covered.
The shape of the vacuum chamber can be different, depending on the specific type of welded joint and the design of the controlled product.
Where is vacuum control used?
This method can detect defects:
- in steel vertical tanks (RVS);
- in steel horizontal tanks (RGS);
- in vessels, tanks and containers;
- other equipment where it is technically possible to install a camera.
