Visual and measuring control

Visual and measuring control is the primary method for diagnosing products and welds. Only after it, when the previously detected defects are eliminated, it is possible to use another control method, for example, ultrasonic or x-ray. Visual and measuring control is characterized by such advantages as simplicity, efficiency, versatility, information content. Visual-measuring control can be carried out both with the help of special equipment and without it. Such equipment includes magnifiers, microscopes, goniometers, rulers, calibers, templates and many others.

Visual and measurement quality control

At first glance, it seems that it is impossible to detect most defects with the optical method, someone considers this method completely useless and uninformative. But this is far from true. A large number of various defects can be detected at the initial stage precisely through visual and measuring control. Among them: pores coming to the surface, calyx, cracks, deviation in the shape and geometry of the product.

The objects of visual and measuring control can be any structures that are put into operation or already functioning: metal structures, pipelines , materials, blanks, welds and joints.

Visual and measuring quality control of welded joints

Visual and measurement control (VMC)  of welded joints is an external inspection, but based on the results of the control, conclusions can be drawn about the quality of preparation and assembly of products intended for welding, and the quality of the finished welded joint can be assessed. An experienced specialist will draw conclusions about the general level of welding, give recommendations.
